On Saturday, December 6th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Fred Meyer located at 5425 W Chinden Boulevard the Salvation Army will be putting on Stuff the Bus.
The goal of Stuff the Bus is to fill the buses with new, unwrapped toys (or gift cards) for children of all ages. The Salvation Army distributes the items to families in need throughout the community in time for Christmas. Girl Scouts will be on hand at store entrances to collect toys to fill a city bus. Help make the holiday a little brighter for those in need.
Below is a photo from last year’s Stuff the Bus of members of Troop 228.

Do you need to get rid of an old cell phone?
WE ALSO ACCEPT USED CELL PHONES (and a few other things) which we send to Project KOPEG (Keep Our Planet Earth Green) – and they give us money!! In 2006 we raised $537.18 by participating in this fundraiser. Isn’t that great? In the past, we might’ve done this fundraiser a little bit different, but here is how we’re doing it now:
1) There is a box in the lobby of Boise headquarters.
2) Anyone that wants to donate their used cell phone (or other items – see list below) should plan to drop it off at HQ, or give it to a membership specialist or staff. Volunteers are not required to drop off their items, unless they’re planning to go to HQ anyway.
We accept:
· USED CELL PHONES
· iPod’s
· Mp3 PLAYERS
· DIGITAL CAMERAS
· PALM PILOTS
· BLACKBERRIES
· PDA’s
· SMALL PRINTER INK CARTRIDGES
· …and their accessories
This is a tax deductible donation. To receive a receipt, please ask the front desk at Boise headquarters, or call Monique Johns at 208-377-2011 x110 or email mjohns@girlscouts-ssc.org.
